representatives from one of our GLOBASE program partner organizations, Kingsbridge Financial, a micro-loan operation, and their families took us to the beach in their hometown of Ada. we traveled by bus to a resort where the volta river forms a lake (the largest reservior in the world) and empties into the atlantic ocean. our hosts did not prepare us for what we were about to experience. although, they did mention that they would bring snacks. in reality, they should have told us they had cooked enough fried chicken, pork kabobs, meat pies, and traditional ghanaian fare to feed a small army.
a day of relaxation and revelry at the beach in ghana...it was truly a memorable way to begin our trip.
