ladies who lunch

today i attended the "23rd annual indianapolis art & antiques + modernism in design" luncheon. keynote speaker: indiana native and interior designer, suzanne kasler. she presented an inspiring body of work, ranging from indianapolis and atlanta to the beaches of south carolina. a woman with a down-to-earth attitude, sharp eye and keen appreciation for architecture as well as design; she reminded me why i too love design--design that is clean, functional and an expression of self.

some of my favorites:

suzanne suggested that each room should be grounded by a piece or grouping of pieces that are special or hold particular meaning to you. "if you find something that catches your eye, just buy it," encouraged kasler. words to live by really.

thanks, reilly, for the invite!
